THE HSE NATIONAL SOCIAL INCLUSION OFFICE INVITES PROPOSALS TO TENDER
FOR AN EVIDENCE REVIEW OF INTERVENTIONS, APPROACHES AND GUIDELINES FOR
THE TREATMENT OF GAMBLING AND GAMING ADDICTION.
THE REVIEW SHOULD:
* Include search strategy and inclusion and exclusion criteria
* Identify and describe interventions, approaches and guidelines for
the treatment of gambling and gaming addiction
* Describe how interventions are evaluated, the quality of
evaluation methods and the results in terms of engagement, service
user outcomes and user satisfaction
* Explore how well the interventions take into consideration service
users with co-morbid mental health problems other addictions and the
needs of marginalised groups
* Unpack contexts and mechanisms that may serve as facilitators or
barriers to give an in-depth understanding of what works for whom
under what circumstance
* Asses each intervention where data is available in terms of cost
effectiveness
* Identify through this process the most appropriate interventions
that could be used in the Irish context to develop a comprehensive
response to gambling and gaming addiction.
